Here is what we did this week:
Reading - We practiced reading out loud in a loud and clear voice in reading groups. We did a fun secret code with our spelling words this week. We can also practice our spelling words on Spelling City, which can be found on our resources page.
Writing - We went over our walking story tools:
To get a 2 for our walking story we need:
1. Title
2. Introduction
3. 3 Middle Sentences
4. Conclusion
and complete sentences with uppercase to start, period to end, verb and noun.
Tools to make it better:
1. Triple Scoop Words
2. Adjectives
3. Details - who, what, how, why, where
4. 5 + 1 Senses
5. Similes
Math - We talked about 2D and 3D shapes. We made 3D shapes with marshmallows and toothpicks.
Science - We continued learning about magnets and what a magnetic field looks like and what it can travel through.
Social Studies - We looked more at Iqaluit, Nunavut. We learned about the weather there and why people chose that spot for their community.
