Hi Everyone,
We had another great week. Here is a summary of a few of the things we worked on:
Reading - We talked about the reading strategies called, stretchy snake and lips the fish. We continued to practice retelling stories that we read and listen to.
Writing - We continued to practice writing walking stories, making sure that we put an introducing and concluding sentence into them.
Math - We continued to practice repeating patterns and we learned about a different kind of pattern. This pattern is called an increasing pattern. An increasing pattern is predictable, it gets bigger, and it has a rule.
Science - We finished our research on the spider and we started talking about the snail. Did you know that snails are gastropods? We learned about their body parts, what they eat, and their habitat.
Social Studies - We looked further into the Acadian culture. We learned about their flag and why it looks the way it does. We also talked about their traditional clothing. They used to wear shoes called sabots when the ground was muddy.
