Hi Everyone!
Here is what we worked on this week:
Reading - In our reading groups this week we put hot and cold words in order alphabetically, cracked a code, and practiced our spelling words. During guided reading we practiced retelling the stories that we read.
Writing - We combined math and our instructional writing this week. We wrote a:
How to complete double digit subtraction questions with regrouping while using 10's and 1's blocks. It was a lot of steps but we finished it! We made sure to include an introduction sentence, materials sentence and a concluding sentence.
Math - We worked on pictographs, addition and subtraction.
Science - We learned how humans and animals stay warm in the winter.
Social Studies - We talked a lot about the Ukrainian culture. We learned about their language, traditions, food and much more. We made our own Pysanky eggs with symbols that relate to us.
Remember it is casual day and Valentines celebration on Monday Feb. 14!
